Bailey bridge constructed on Chame-Narpabhumi road in Manang

. A bailey bridge has been constructed over the Marsyangdi River linking Chame rural municipality-3 and 5 in Manang district. With the operation of the Bailey Bridge, the movement of residents of Narpa, which does not have access to road network, has been easier.

The Bailey Bridge, which is 54.TAG_OPEN_div_13 4 meters long and four meters wide, was inaugurated by Narpabhumi Rural Municipality Chairman Konjo Tenzing Lama on Monday. The construction of the Bailey Bridge has expanded road access to Narpabhumi rural municipality. Lama said that with the expansion of road access, there would be positive impact on education, health, agriculture, tourism, trade and delivery of government services.

The bridge was constructed in partnership with Narpabhumi Rural Municipality and Narkhola Hydro Energy Pvt Ltd.TAG_OPEN_div_11 The bridge has a capacity of 55 tons and was built at the cost of Rs 60 million, Lama said.

Currently TAG_OPEN_div_9, six kilometers of road has reached from Chame to the Narpabhumi border. However, construction of road linking the rural municipality centre is still 11 kilometers remaining. “Works are underway to open the remaining section of the road and the target is to complete it by coming April,” Lama said. ”

After the construction of the bridge over Nar Khola, the district headquarters Chame and the rural municipality will be connected to the road network. Chief Administrative Officer of the rural municipality Sushil Lamsal said the process to connect Narpabhumi with road network has moved ahead with the operation of the Bailey Bridge.
