Kathmandu. On the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week 2026 (August 01 to August 07), Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has started Infant Care Room and Day Care at Central Office, Darbamarmarg, giving priority to infant motherhood of its female employees.

The infant care room and day care has been established with the objective of providing a safe, comfortable, clean and confidential environment to the lactating female employees. The care room was inaugurated by the chairperson of Mahalaxmi Women Leadership and Development Forum amidst a program held yesterday.

The forum was formed on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the bank, which has been carrying out activities to enhance the leadership capacity of women employees, play a more effective role in institutional development, enhance professional competence and self-confidence, promote equal opportunities and inclusive environment in the workplace and conduct various programs related to women empowerment.

Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank has given priority to inclusion and gender equality. The initiative is a continuation of the Bank’s long-term commitment to promote respect for motherhood, work-life balance and well-being by building an employee-friendly, family-friendly and inclusive work culture. On this occasion, the bank has urged all workplaces to move towards creating a motherhood-friendly environment and expressed its commitment to health, dignity and overall well-being of its employees.

The bank, which has been providing quality financial services at the doorstep of Nepali people in line with its vision of “Sabal Bank, Safal Collaboration”, has recently inaugurated a digital hub with coffee lounge in Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu.
