National Life’s Raising the Bar, Redefining Success 

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: National Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) has organized a four-day conference branch managers conference at Hotel Manakamana Hillcrest Resort in Manakamana, Gorkha. The conference held with the theme of ‘Raising the Bar, Redefining Success’ held extensive discussions and training on the company’s business expansion, upcoming business strategy, challenges of competitive insurance market and capacity enhancement of employees.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Prema Rajya Laxmi Singh, Chairman of the company.  Addressing the function, the chairman said that the life insurance business is becoming competitive day by day.

“We all have the challenge of preparing ourselves accordingly and promoting the business and for this, the company has always been at the forefront of providing training and training to the employees in the field of Artificial Intelligence, which is now famous all over the world and especially has the potential to contribute a lot to life insurance, and I am trying to promote the digital marketing of the company.” She said.

The company is continuously contributing to the career development of its employees by investing as much as possible in human resources and will continue to do so in the days to come.  She expressed confidence that the professional height of the company will increase further in the coming days with the maximum efforts and mutual coordination of the employees.

In his welcome remarks, Mr. Suresh Prasad Khatri, Chief Executive Officer of the company, said, “With the beginning of the new financial year, we have come together to embark on a new journey, new resolutions and new opportunities.

The conference was attended by more than 200 participants including the departmental heads of the company, provincial chiefs, branch chiefs and marketing staffers from all over the country and Director of Insurance Authority of Nepal Sambha Raj Lamichhane imparted training on prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism. Stating that the possibility of money laundering is increasing through life insurance as well, he stressed that all the employees working in the company should be especially alert and responsible in this regard.

Similarly, Artificial Intelligence instructor Bishwa Raj Poudel has imparted special training to the employees with the objective of making them proficient in technology. He has provided information about various tools of AI and how to use AI to effectively market the insurance business through digital medium.

Likewise, Suran de Silva, an international trainer from Sri Lanka, presented various practical examples on how to achieve business success in competitive insurance market and imparted training to the participants on market expansion, business growth and how to succeed in the competition.

On the occasion, the Chairman of the company felicitated and awarded five branch offices for their outstanding performance in various aspects of branch operation in the fiscal year 2082÷83, as well as the best three branch offices on the basis of maximum first premium collection, maximum active agent production and maximum number of insurance policies, as well as the best one branch offices that selected the highest number ÷of agents in the Chairperson Club Scheme and CEO Club Scheme.

Various musical and entertainment programs were also organized in the conference with the objective of capacity building of employees and strengthening mutual relations. Badminton and table tennis tournaments and musical chairs were organized with the participation of male and female staff. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suresh Prasad Khatri handed over the awards to the employees who excelled in various categories of sports competitions.

The four-day conference has worked out the company’s future business strategy and further strengthened mutual coordination, capacity building and institutional commitment among the employees of the branches and central offices.
