Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. KATHMANDU: Swarnim Wagle has stressed the need of protecting and promoting the historical properties in the National Archives.

Inspecting the National Archives at the Ramshah Path on Tuesday evening, he said the protection of the historical, political, religious history and cultural documents was essential for the country.

“The historical documents in the National Archives are invaluable assets of Nepal and it is imperative to preserve them for the foreseeable future,” she said.

“It is imperative to preserve the historical, political, religious history and cultural documents that are present here. Thank you for your efforts to preserve the historical documents of Nepal,” Wagle told the archives. Let’s all work for its protection. ”

During the observation, he took brief information about the archives of economic and political activities of the historical regime.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Wagle also enquired with the employees whether the budget and programs being received by the Archives have been effective or not.

Finance Minister Dr. Director General of the Department of Archaeology, Saubhagya Pradhananga, said that it has become challenging to preserve historical, religious, cultural and political documents due to lack of resources.

According to him, it has become difficult to protect the archives in the absence of secure and well-equipped physical infrastructure. He said that the archives has not been able to adequately explain its importance to scholars, students and even the government due to lack of resources.

Director-General Pradhananga also drew the attention of the Finance Minister to invest in the budget for the construction of buildings with land at new places, use of new technology to protect records and capacity building of employees.
