Health Ministry directs hospitals across the country to be on standby

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Health and Food and Hygiene has directed hospitals and health institutions across the country to be prepared in view of the possible disasters and risks to public health, including landslides.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted in different parts of the country from September 24 to 24. The Ministry has requested to be alert about the possible risks as it is currently raining in different places.TAG_OPEN_div_11

The Ministry of TAG_OPEN_div_9 Health has urged all hospitals and health institutions to keep the necessary human resources, medicines and health materials ready to ensure the continuity of emergency health services and to prevent disruption in service delivery during the time of possible disasters, floods, landslides and other natural disasters.

The Ministry has also requested the government to make patient transfer and referral service smooth and effective, to make the ambulance service effective and to make necessary facilitation by coordinating with the Health Emergency Operation Centre at the federal and state levels.TAG_OPEN_div_7
