PALPA. Highway and rural roads in Palpa have been obstructed due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall since last night.

Traffic has been affected in Siddhababa area of Tansen-Butwal road section of Siddhartha Highway and Chidipani Aryabhanjyang-Rampur section of Mathagadi Rural Municipality-1. Landslides are continuously falling on the dam side of Siddhababa area of the same highway.

According to Police Post Dovan, the landslide fell on a moving truck near the Ayurveda Dispensary at Chidipani, Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-1. The truck suffered minor damage due to the landslide.

Two dozers have been mobilized to clear the landslide. Power supply has also been disrupted in some places of Palpa due to incessant rains. The water level in the rivers and streams of Tinau and other districts has increased. The local administration has urged people to remain alert as there is a possibility of heavy rain.
