Bhaktapur. The vehicular movement has been halted after the bridge over the Manohara River linking Bode of Bhaktapur and Mulpani of Kathmandu collapsed.

Binod Kumar Khadka, Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur, informed that vehicular movement has come to a halt after the bridge collapsed due to the flooded Manohara River following incessant rain.

A team comprising Chief District Officer Khadka and Superintendent of Police at the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, Surya Bahadur Khadka had inspected the flood waters in the rivers and Manohara rivulets.

Vehicular movement has been obstructed after the water level in the Hanumante River, Khasyang Khusung and Godawari River has risen following incessant rainfall.

Similarly, in Balakot, Kaushaltar, Lokanthali and Sagbari, the police have removed the people living in temporary tents and shifted them to safer places. The people living in the tents have been kept in the Adarsha Janapremi School in Kaushaltar, said Khadka. The Sagbari river, which is on the border of Balkot and Lokanthali, is the Triveni site where Hanumante, Manohara and Godavari rivulets come in.

Chyama Singh Nala Road Opened

Similarly, due to incessant rains, the vehicular movement of the road connecting Chayamasingh of Bhaktapur Municipality to Nala of Kavre via Tathali has been resumed. Vehicular movement on the Chyamasingh-Tathali-Nala road has been halted since this morning after the road was blocked due to landslide caused by rain.

A team comprising Chief District Officer Khadka and District Police Chief Khadka carried out monitoring of the road section and removed the landslide debris with the help of dozers.
