Baitadi. The District Administration Office has banned the operation of public vehicles in the district from 6 am today to 6 am tomorrow due to the increased risk of floods and landslides due to incessant rains.

Public and private vehicles have been urged to stay alert after the Meteorological Forecasting Division and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) urged Baitadi and Darchula districts to stay alert in the wake of heavy rainfall.

It has been raining continuously in Baitadi since last night. Both the local administrations have urged the transport entrepreneurs and the general public not to ply all long and short route vehicles.

According to the District Administration Office, Darchula, the operation of vehicles has been prohibited as the district is in the ‘high-risk’ category.
