Kathmandu. The floods have disrupted the power generation and transmission of 2.5 MW Sayapatri Hydropower Limited.

The power generation and transmission work of Sayapatri Hydropower, which has been constructed and operated in Tarakhola Rural Municipality of Baglung district, has been disrupted. The flood has damaged the poles and wires of the 33 KV transmission line of the project.

According to the company, the power generation and transmission work of the project has been halted since around 11 pm on September 22. According to the company, the poles and wires of the 33 KV transmission line from the switchyard of the project to the Herichaur substation of the Nepal Electricity Authority have been damaged due to the flood.

Similarly, power supply has also been disrupted in some areas of Tarakhola Rural Municipality since September 26. The company said that communication has also been cut off due to the disruption of power supply.

The company said that due to the communication disconnection, the employees working at the project site have not been contacted yet. Due to this, there is no information about the additional damage caused by the floods at the project site.

The company has pledged to make public the actual condition of the project and the details of the damage once the project officials are contacted.

The company said that it is currently working to ascertain the damage to the 33 KV transmission line and other physical structures damaged by the floods. The company has also informed that the project has been insured.

The regular operation of the project has been affected due to the disruption of power generation and transmission due to the floods. However, the company has not given any details of the additional damage and the timing of the resumption of power generation.
