Kathmandu. Pokhara’s hot air balloon flights, which were halted for three months due to rainy season, have resumed.

The hot air balloon service that has been operating in the Pame area of Pokhara has resumed from September 20, according to Balloon Nepal, the operator company.

According to the company’s chairman, Bikram Bade, the hot air balloon flight which was the attraction of tourists has been resumed with the improvement in the weather. With this, domestic and foreign tourists coming to Pokhara will be able to see the view of Pokhara Valley, Fewa Lake and the mountain range from the sky.

The hot air balloon can reach an altitude of about 6,000 feet and view the major tourist areas of Pokhara including Machhapuchhre and Annapurna mountain ranges. During the flight, you can see the panoramic views of Phewa Lake, Pumdikot Mahadev, Sarangkot and Pokhara Valley.

Domestic tourists have to pay Rs 11,000 while tourists from SAARC countries and China have to pay $120 and foreign tourists $150 for balloon flights.

According to the company, the balloon flight usually operates from 5 am to 9 am and from 3 pm to 6 pm. The timing and operation of the flight can be changed according to the weather conditions and wind speed.

Balloon Nepal has also been providing package services for tourists. The package includes breakfast, two-way transportation from Lakeside to Pame and a flight certificate. There is also a facility to reserve a balloon for group or special occasions.

With the addition of new adventure tourism activities in Pokhara, hot air balloons are also becoming a means of attraction for tourists. Entrepreneurs are expecting that the participation of tourists in balloon flights will increase in the upcoming tourist season after the resumption of the service, which was halted due to weather.
