Kathmandu. Diesel has been transported through drones for the reconstruction and repair of the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, which was blocked due to flooding in the Kaligandaki River.
According to Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal, around 400 liters of diesel has been transported by drone from Baisari (Kunauto) to Begkhola in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2 of Myagdi with the support of Nepal Army.
After the road blockage, there was a problem in the supply of fuel for the equipment used in construction and repair work. Minister Lamsal said that it has been easier to continue the road construction and repair work in Mahbhir, Bhirkate and Pokhrebagar areas after the fuel was supplied through drones.
Although reconstruction and repair works are underway along the flood-damaged road section, it is yet to come into operation.
