Humla. Normal life has been affected in the district since last night after the sudden rain and snowfall started. Snowfall is taking place in the upper part of the district and continuous rain in the lower areas.
Snowfall is taking place in the high mountainous and high altitude areas including Namkha and Simkot while light rain has been taking place in the lower areas of Adanchuli and Tanjakot districts since last night. The daily life of the locals has been affected due to the increase in cold along with the rain.
Due to incessant rains, mud and water have accumulated on the unpaved roads and trails in the rural areas, causing problems in the movement of traffic. Deepak Karki from Khachcha of Sarkegad-1 said that the road has also been affected due to the obstruction of the road in some places. According to him, the road has been completely blocked due to continuous rain as there is a problem due to dry landslides in Khacha.
There is also a risk of damage to crops and vegetables in the fields due to the rains. Locals are worried after floods and landslides in some places and the water level in the streams started increasing.
Livestock are also facing problems due to rain and snowfall. It is said that due to the increase in cold, there is a problem in feeding and protecting the cattle kept in open and cowsheds.
With the sudden change in weather, more snowfall has occurred in the high mountainous areas of the district while rain has continued in the lower areas, urging the locals to remain alert for possible damage. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, Shankar Khadka, said that people should stay safe as snowfall and rain has been taking place in different places of the district. He said that details of the damage caused by the rain are being collected and it is raining incessantly.
