You don’t have to go to the bank to exchange new money in Dashain, you can get Rs 100 notes from ATMs

{{TAG_OPEN_div_16} Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed banks and financial institutions (BFIs) to provide new Rs 100 notes through ATMs targeting the upcoming Dashain festivals.

With the directive of the Nepal Rastra Bank, some banks and financial institutions have also started distributing Rs 100 notes through new types of ATMs. Guru Prasad Poudel, spokesperson of the Nepal Rastra Bank, said that arrangements have been made to get dry and clean notes from the Rastra Bank and the Commercial Bank targeting the festival without unnecessary publicity about the new notes in the context of the Bhotekoshi floods.

} “On the one hand, exchanging money is like a regular routine done on a daily basis. It is not necessary to do it by issuing information,” he said, “It is not appropriate for the Rastra Bank to issue a notice to celebrate Dashain as there is a huge loss of life and property due to the Bhotekoshi floods on the eve of the festival. We are going to do this in this way.” ”

Spokesperson Poudel shared that the distribution of dry and clean notes has been started from Thapathali of the Rastra Bank, the provincial offices of the Rastra Bank and the commercial banks since September 18.TAG_OPEN_div_10

Spokesperson Poudel also said that for the last 4-5 years, the Rastra Bank has been trying to gradually reduce the practice of bringing new notes in the market targeting the festivals. He said, “As of September 14, Rs 794 billion in currency has been in circulation. We expect that about 8 to 10 percent of this amount will increase during Dashain.”TAG_OPEN_div_8 ”
