Kathmandu. Nepali Congress presidential candidate Kishor Singh Rathore has withdrawn his candidacy. He announced that he has withdrawn his candidacy in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
Talking to media persons at the National Assembly Hall, he said, “I have withdrawn my candidacy for greater unity of the party as the general convention is taking place under special circumstances and the party president should help at a time when the party is in crisis.” ‘
Earlier, he had filed his candidacy for the post of president in the last hour of filing his last candidacy on Tuesday evening.
Stating that the NC is a democratic party, no leader should go to the polls unopposed, he said, adding that no matter how popular Gagan Kumar Thapa is, he said.
Shyam Krishna Khadki is pitted against Gagan Thapa for the post of president.
