Bagmati government to construct seven bridges in flood-affected areas and spend around Rs 140 million to operate 21 projects allocated for police

Hetauda. The Bagmati Province government has decided to construct seven bridges in different places of Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Hetauda today decided to construct five suspension bridges and two bailey bridges to restore transport connectivity in the flood-ravaged areas.

Spokesperson of the provincial government and Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Bharat Bahadur KC said that three suspension bridges will be constructed in Nuwakot and two in Rasuwa. Suspension bridges will be constructed at Simtchaur and Tirtire Chir at the place connecting Maristop Road in Bidur Municipality-4 of Nuwakot to Kafibari of Ward No. 12. Similarly, it has been decided to construct one suspension bridge each at Syafrubesi and Thuman of Rasuwa to Lingling.

According to him, a bailey bridge would be constructed at Kuwapani of Falakhu River in Nuwakot and Trishuli River at Bidur.

The meeting also decided to cut the budget of the proposed programs of various ministries to manage additional financial resources for the reconstruction, relief and rehabilitation of the disaster-affected areas. According to Minister KC, the budget will be mobilized for disaster management and reconstruction of damaged structures.

Similarly, the meeting gave full shape to three thematic committees under the Council of Ministers as per Rule 26 (1) of the State Government Work Execution Regulations, 2074.

Saral Sahayatri Poudel has been appointed as the coordinator of the Administration and Bill Committee, Bharat Bahadur KC and Rajendra Prajapati as members, Gir Bahadur Tamang as the coordinator of the Political Committee and Rajendra Prajapati and Gyan Bahadur Tamang as members.

Likewise, Bharat Bahadur KC will be the coordinator of the Economic, Social and Infrastructure Committee and Raju Bista and Rama Ale Magar will be the members. The meeting has also given authority to implement and spend the allocated budget for all the 13 District Coordination Committees of the province.

Likewise, the meeting decided to give authority to spend Rs 138.28 million for the operation of 21 projects allocated for Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, said Minister KC.
