KATHMANDU: The voting time for the election of a new leadership under the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress has been extended by two hours. The voting deadline was extended till 5 pm due to a delay of at least half an hour for one person to cast the vote till 3 pm.
Issuing a notice, the Central Election Committee (CEC) has extended the voting time till 5:00 pm from 3:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The voting started at 7 a.m. and the delegates are participating in the voting. The voting time has been extended after a long queue of delegates at the polling station.
A total of 7,317 general convention delegates are voting to elect the new leadership of the party. The general convention has to be held in 23 clusters, including the president, vice-president, general secretary, joint general secretary and central members.
Issuing a notice, Member Secretary of the Election Committee, Raju Katuwal, informed that the voting time has been extended.
