Kathmandu. At present, the country is under the influence of the western low pressure system as well as the monsoon wind. The mountainous region is generally cloudy while the rest of the country is partly cloudy.

The weather will be partly cloudy in the mountainous and hilly regions and mainly fair in the Tarai region towards the afternoon. Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at some places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces, and at one or two places of the mountainous and hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Similarly, there will be partly cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas tonight while the weather will be mainly clear in the Tarai region. Foggy is likely to occur in some parts of the Tarai towards the morning. Light rain and snowfall along with thunder and lightning is likely at one or two places of the mountainous region of Koshi, Bagmati and Karnali provinces.
