Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to repair the structure of the Khula Manch that was damaged during the 15th General Convention.

Showing high responsibility towards public infrastructure and environmental sensitivity, the structures of the historic Khula Manch complex will be repaired. The Congress has signed an agreement to plant new grass and maintain it at its own expense to restore the damage caused during the general convention held at Khula Manch from October 18 to 23.

The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has given the responsibility to Mount Everest Sports and Events Pvt Ltd, a service provider organisation, to bring the Khula Manch back to its original condition as per the Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s rules and standards.

The agreement regarding the repair was signed by acting chief secretary Krishna Prasad Dulal and representative of Mount Everest Events, Thaman Bhusal, in the presence of Bishwa Prakash Sharma, who was elected as the senior vice-president of the Nepali Congress. As per the agreement, all the parts of the Khula Manch that were damaged during the general convention will be planted with high quality grass and proper care will be done with technical supervision. Duwal said that the Nepali Congress itself will bear the entire financial burden and cost of this work.

A 45-day deadline has been set for the rehabilitation, in the first 15 days, the grass plantation will be completed within the first 15 days and the remaining 30 days the grass will be nurtured, irrigated and made completely green.

The Nepali Congress Central Office has entrusted the Nepali Congress Kathmandu Metropolitan Committee with the responsibility of volunteering for the work of planting grass and preserving the grass. It will be coordinated by Kathmandu Metropolitan City President Engineer Susan Vaidya. Vaidya said that after the completion of the work, the Khula Manch complex will be handed over to the metropolis as per the criteria of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

According to the financial agreement, 80 percent of the total contract amount will be provided in advance and the remaining 20 percent will be provided after the completion of the work. This move of the Congress to make the place more beautiful and organized after organizing a public program has sent a positive message to the civic level and environmental circles.
