He said that up to 15,000 goats and mountain goats (made or alive) will be sold. According to Kandel, if 15,000 goats and goats are sold, the turnover will be Rs 300 million.TAG_OPEN_div_13

TAG_OPEN_div_11 For the past five years, meat traders in Chitwan have not imported Indian goats during the Dashain festival. Kandel said that the cooperatives operating in Chitwan have not imported goats from India after they started producing goats. According to him, goats from Chitwan have been sent to Kathmandu this time. According to him, goats from Gorkha, Dhading, Nawalparasi, Tanahun and other districts come to Chitwan. The price of live goat is more than Rs 700. Goat meat is being sold at Rs 1,200 per kg in the Chitwan market.

He said that chicken meat will not be sold especially during Dashain. According to him, it is estimated that around four crore rupees of chicken meat will be sold. Compared to last year, the demand for mountain goats has increased in Chitwan for Dashain. Earlier, mountain goats used to come only from Mustang, but this time mountain goats are also coming to Chitwan’s market from Jumla, Bajhang and Dolpa. He said that more than three thousand mountain goats have come to Chitwan in this year’s Dashain. Due to this, the business is expected to increase. He said that although the business of meat from Phulpati was increasing in the previous Dashain, this year the consumption is expected to increase due to the increase in Ghatasthapana.TAG_OPEN_div_9
