Kathmandu. Jigyan Kumar Thapa has withdrawn his candidacy for Japan.

In today’s meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, Chairman of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHSC) Bodh Narayan Shrestha said that he withdrew his candidacy from the Parliamentary Hearing Committee.

According to him, Thapa withdrew his name citing conflict of interest.

During the hearing on October 11, lawmakers had raised questions about Thapa’s holding a permanent residence permit for Japan.

The parliamentary committee later sought details from the Japanese government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The reply was sent by the Foreign Ministry through the embassy.
