Dadeldhura. In Dadeldhura, 60 percent of the sowing has been completed. According to the District-based Agriculture Knowledge Centre, paddy has been cultivated on 6,120 hectares of land and about 60 per cent sowing has been completed by the second week of June.

Centre’s chief Narendra Paneru said 60 per cent of the sowing has been completed by the second week of June this year due to timely monsoon rains. Regular rainfall has made it easier for farmers to plant in non-irrigated land as well as in non-irrigated areas. According to him, sowing has been completed in most of the places due to continuous rain and timely planting of paddy seedlings.

Paddy is mainly planted in Jogbuda and Parshuram Alital in the inner Madhes region of the district. Similarly, paddy will be planted as an annual crop in Bhageshwor, Navadurga, Ajaymeru, Sakayal of Ganyapadhura, Koral, Asigram area and amargadhi.

Chief Paneru said that it is believed that the production of paddy will also increase due to timely sowing. According to him, paddy is sown annually in more than 6,000 hectares of land in Dadeldhura.
