Koshi state government to launch ‘Kisan First’ campaign

Morang. Chief Minister of Koshi State Hikmat Kumar Karki has said that the state government would launch a campaign to encourage farmers with the campaign of ‘Kisan First’. Issuing a message of best wishes on the occasion of the National Paddy Day today, he said that a farmer-friendly plan would be formulated and implemented effectively.

Stating that paddy day is particularly important as it is associated with the original tradition of Nepalis, Chief Minister Karki pointed out the need for farming keeping in mind the impact of climate change on agricultural production.

“The state government has given priority to the issue of farmers first in this year’s policy and programme and budget. In the recent past, the agriculture sector has been affected due to migration and foreign employment. ’

In his message, Chief Minister Karki said, “There is a need to give priority to the agriculture sector to fulfill the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’. ’
