Kathmandu. Life insurance companies have done a total insurance business of more than Rs 1.5 billion till mid-May of the current fiscal year. According to the Insurance Authority, 14 life insurance companies in operation have been able to earn a total insurance premium of Rs 154 billion till mid-May.

According to the NRA, Nepal Life Insurance Company has the highest total insurance business during this period. The company has a total insurance business worth Rs 41.02 billion till Mid-June.

Similarly, National Life Insurance company has earned Rs 18.90 billion, LIC Nepal Company Rs 17.24 billion and Himalayan Life Insurance Company Rs 15.22 billion in the 11 months of the current fiscal year.

SuryaJyoti Life Insurance earned Rs 9.45 billion, National Life Insurance Company Rs 9 billion, Asian Life Rs 7.86 billion, Citizen Life Rs 6.32 billion, Sanima Reliance Life Rs 5.90 billion and Met Life Rs 5.54 billion in the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.

Similarly, IME Life insurance earned Rs 4.72 billion, Reliable Nepal Life Insurance Rs 4.55 billion, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Rs 4.54 billion and Sun Nepal Life Insurance Rs 3.73 billion.
