Kathmandu. A special order has been issued to release former minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet on bail of Rs 2.5 million. The court ordered him to be released on bail after arguments today.

When Basnet was the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, it was decided to purchase Teramux technology. Basnet has been suspended from the post of lawmaker after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case accusing him of corruption at that time.

He had reached the court on Sunday to testify in the Terramx technology purchase corruption case. A division bench of Special Court Judges Tej Narayan Singh Rai, Bidur Koirala and Ram Bahadur Thapa passed the order.
