Kisan Sacos enters 31st year after merger of 25 co-operative societies

Kathmandu. Nawalparasi: The Farmers’ Savings and Credit Co-operative Society, headquartered at Gaindakot-8 in Nawalparasi district, has entered its 31st year after completing 30 years.

Established on July 1, 2052 with the active participation of 25 local people, the organization has so far merged with 25 cooperatives. The organization has been providing focused services to members and communities rather than profit.

On the occasion of the foundation day, a traffic awareness program has been organized for the students studying at Gyanodaya Secondary School at Kawasoti and Janak Model Secondary School at Gaindakot. The organization has also built zebra crosses on the roads around janak model secondary school campus.

The government has completed the cleaning of various public places in two dozen different places where the cooperative’s service centers are located. Chief Executive Officer of the organization Sanjay Raj Timilsina said that the program was held in the presence of the directors, employees, sub-committee and local members of the organization.

“As part of the week-long foundation day programme, a cleanliness programme of 21 different public places within the jurisdiction has been completed today,” he said, adding, “We believe that the programme, which started simultaneously from all service centers at 7:30 am, will clean up public places and increase social awareness on cleanliness.” ’

Devghat Rural Municipality in Tanahun district, Deupur Park in Devghat, Narayanghat in Chitwan district, Harihar Temple in Pulchowk, Durga Temple in Bharatpur, RestIng Place in Samriddhi Seva Kendra area and Chautari, Ratnanagar Municipality and Siddheshwar Jaldevi Temple in Tandi area have been included in the cleanliness campaign.

Similarly, Kalika Temple of Dumkibas area of Nawalpur district, Shivalaya Temple of Sardi, Ganesh Temple and Shiva Temple of Arunkhola, Shamshan Ghat of Amrapuri area, Durga Temple of Harkapur area, Basundhara Temple of Mukundapur area, Park and Vihar of Ghumane Community Forest of Devchuli area, Ganesh Temple of Daldale area, Shivalaya Temple of Razhar area, Durga Temple of Chormara area, Kumarvarti Health Post of Gochhada area, Asian Highway of Gaindakot Pulchowk area. There are shilanyas park and shilanyas chowk, Ranital Chandika temple in Gaindakot area and Ram temple in Kawasoti and Bishnunagar area.

On the occasion of National Paddy Day on July 15, a mass paddy planting programme has been organized in 10 kattha paddy fields of farmers of Panchavati Service Center area. Similarly, educational materials have been distributed to 51 students.

Since 25 different organizations have been merged to form Kisan Sakos, it has received guidance by interviewing all the pre-unification leaders since the inception of all the organizations.

The organization has tried to realize the common ownership of the organization at the member level through the situation and environment as well as the exchange of experiences since the establishment of the organization. As the organization grows, the organization has emphasized on continuous leadership development as well as moving forward by adopting the experience of the former leadership so as not to weaken the proximity between the members and the leadership.

Farmer Sakos, who is going to enter its 31st year after successfully completing 30 years of its glorious history, has been doing exemplary work in the cooperative sector with the vision of ‘Prosperous Member, Sustainable Sakos’.
