Kathmandu. Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and International Relations and Global Diplomacy Dialogue IRGDD have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for economic diplomacy and investment promotion.
Chamber President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal and IRGDD President and former Ambassador Dr. Dipu Moni were present at the programme held at the Chamber Building in Jamal, Kathmandu on Tuesday. Sharmila Parajuli Dhakal signed the agreement.
The Chamber and IRGDD signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on trade and investment diplomacy, policy research and capacity building, market promotion of Nepali products and private sector engagement.
According to the agreement, cooperation will be made on investment potential and trade promotion by including Nepalis living in countries and abroad where Nepal’s diplomatic relations have been established.
According to the agreement, the Chamber and IRGDD will jointly conduct study and research in areas such as trade, mobilization of youth manpower, economic diplomacy and investment promotion.
The chamber said that the implementation of the agreement between the two organizations will be reviewed every six months. Chamber of Commerce President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal said that the agreement has been signed with IRGDD as there is a need to strengthen economic diplomacy through continuous discussions and collaboration between diplomatic missions abroad, embassies and the private sector of Nepal.
