Kathmandu. Meetings of nine different committees of the federal parliament are being held today.
Meetings of the Finance Committee, International Relations and Tourism, Industry, Commerce and Labour and Consumer Welfare, Agriculture Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committees are being held on behalf of the House of Representatives. Similarly, a meeting of the Women and Social, Infrastructure Development, Education, Health and Information Technology Committee is scheduled to be held.
A meeting of the Federalism Empowerment and National Concern Committee is also being held in the National Assembly. A meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, which is a joint committee, has also been scheduled to be held today. The finance committee meeting is scheduled to hold discussions with the members proposing the amendment to register the amendment proposal in the bill to amend the Banks and Financial Institutions Act, 2073 BS. The International Relations and Tourism Committee will hold discussions with the amenders on the Nepal Air Service Authority Bill, 2081 BS.
The Committee on Industry and Commerce will discuss the quota set by the Government of Nepal for the import and distribution of chemical fertilizers provided to the farmers. Discussions will be held on the upcoming programmes and contemporary issues of the committee in the Agriculture and Cooperative Committee. The infrastructure development committee is scheduled to discuss the Electricity Bill, 2080, The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill, 2081, Sunkoshi Marine Diversion Project and various topics. The committee will discuss the report of the School Education Bill Sub-Committee.
The draft of the committee’s on-site monitoring report will be discussed in the Federalism Empowerment Committee. The parliamentary hearing committee will discuss the issue of law, justice and parliamentary affairs ministers and the persons recommended for hearing.
Since the Meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for Monday, July 15 and the Meeting of the National Assembly on July 24, the agenda of discussion has been fixed in order to advance the important bills in the committee.
