Us billionaire Elon Musk announces new Us political party, name ‘America’ party

Washington. Elon Musk, a former aide to Us President Donald Trump, said on Saturday that he had established a new political party in the United States to challenge what he described as the country’s “one-party system”.

Musk, the world’s richest man and Trump’s biggest political donor in the 2024 election, had bitter differences with the president after he led Trump’s efforts to cut spending and reduce federal jobs as head of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Musk has clashed with Trump over the president’s massive domestic spending plan. He said it would explode U.S. debt and promised to do everything in his power to defeat lawmakers who voted for it.

Now he has created his own political framework for the so-called ‘America Party’ and will try to achieve it through it.

“We are living in a one-party system, not a democracy, in terms of ruining and bankrupting our country with corruption,” the owner of SpaceX and Tesla posted on his social networking platform X. “Today, the Us Party is formed to give you back your freedom.” ’

Musk cited a survey uploaded on U.S. Independence Day on Friday. In the survey, he asked respondents if they wanted independence from the “two-party system that has dominated American politics for nearly two centuries”.

The survey received more than 1.2 million responses.

“In a two-to-one ratio, you want a new political party and you will get it!” he posted on Saturday. Musk also shared a picture of a two-headed snake and a meme with the caption “End the one-party system.”.

‘laser-focus’ on at-risk MPs

It is unclear how much impact the new party will have in the mid-term elections in 2026 or the presidential elections two years later.

The Trump-Musk controversy resumed dramatically late last month after Trump pressured Republicans in Congress to pass his big domestic agenda as “One Big Beautiful Bill.”

Musk vehemently opposed the law and mercilessly attacked its Republican supporters for supporting “debt slavery.”

He pledged to launch a new political party to challenge lawmakers campaigning to reduce federal spending to vote in favor of the bill. Experts say this will add an additional $3.4 trillion to the U.S. deficit over a decade.

“Even if this is the last thing I do on earth, they will lose their primary election next year,” Musk said earlier this week.

After Musk strongly criticized the main spending bill, Trump threatened to deport the tech businessman and withhold federal funding from his businesses. The bill was eventually passed by the Congress and signed into law.

Asked if he would consider deporting Musk, who was born in South Africa and has taken US citizenship since 2002, the president told reporters: “We have to see.” ’

After posting the poll, On Friday, Musk presented a potential political war plan to select at-risk House and Senate seats and become a “decisive vote” on key laws.

“One way to implement this is to laser-focus on only two or three Senate seats and eight to 10 House districts,” Musk posted on X.

All 435 seats in the U.S. House are occupied every two years, and nearly one-third of the 100 Members of the Senate who complete a six-year term are elected every two years.

Some observers did not hesitate to point out how third-party campaigns have historically divided votes. Businessman Ross Perot’s independent presidential candidacy helped defeat George W. Bush in 1992. Bush’s re-election led to democrat Bill Clinton’s victory.

“You’re pulling juice perot and I don’t like it,” an X user wrote to Musk.
