More than 63,000 visitors visit Diyalo Bungalow in one year, collect 5.316 million revenue

Chitwan. A total of 63,448 visitors visited the Diyalo Bungalow, which was opened to the general public from today a year ago. A total of Rs 5,316,850 revenue has been collected from this.

The palace, owned by Nepal Trust, has been opened to the general public under the management of Bharatpur Metropolitan City. A discount of Rs 100 has been given to ordinary Nepalis and 50 percent discount to senior citizens and students. Similarly, rs 150 has been fixed for tourists from neighbouring countries India and China, Rs 200 for tourists from other SAARC countries and Rs 300 for tourists from non-SAARC countries. Nepal Trust will get 60 percent of the revenue collected and 40 percent will be given to the Metropolitan City.

Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City Renu Dahal said that the trust and the metropolitan city have jointly carried out physical infrastructure works while opening the dialo bungalow to the general public. The Metropolitan City had taken initiative to bring the dialo bungalow into operation targeting the Visit Bharatpur Year 2024.

Chief Dahal said that the number of people coming to study and visit the Diyalo Bungalow is increasing day by day due to its historical importance. At that time, the royal family used to spend a lot of time in this palace during the winter months. It is also a place for the royal family to stay when they come hunting.

There is a large living room on the first floor inside the palace. On the wall of which pictures of the then kings Mahendra and Birendra can be seen. The crocodile, which was hunted and killed by King Mahendra in 2026 BS, has been decorated and the tiger’s head has been kept in the same condition.

There are five bedrooms in the palace. The number one khopi belongs to The Mother Ratna Rajya, number 2 belongs to the king and number 3 belongs to the queen, 4 and 5 belong to other members of the royal family. The materials used by the royal family are kept as they are now. There is ‘Naniganj’ for women’s susare near the palace and there is an ADC quarter for the king’s security guard. There is a garage to keep the vehicle some distance away.

Deputy Mayor of Chitwan Metropolitan City, Chitrasen Adhikari, said that diyalo bungalow is helpful in extending the stay for tourists visiting Chitwan. According to adhikari, Diyalo Bungalow has become an easy tourist destination for anyone entering and exiting the capital through Chitwan and traveling through the district.
