Siraha. Siraha: Police have arrested a youth with more than two quintals of marijuana from Malah tole of Aurahi rural municipality-5 in Siraha district.

According to Birendra Kumar Paswan, information officer at the District Police Office, the arrested person has been identified as 23-year-old Ram Udgar Malah. He was arrested on Friday night on the basis of specific information while he was carrying marijuana.

According to Information Officer Paswan, Malah was arrested with a motorcycle (Pra 2-01-003 Pa 2154). During his arrest, the police recovered a total of 212 kg 925 grams of marijuana kept in seven sacks.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team from The District Police Office, Siraha and Police Post Aurahi recovered the marijuana. On seeing the police, some other people, including the vehicle, fled from the spot.

The search for the absconding persons has been intensified, police said. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
