Dhanusha. The Madhes State Disaster Management Executive Committee has decided to supply water through fire extinguishers to resolve the drinking water crisis in various parts of madhes including Birgunj.
Eight fire extinguishers with a capacity of 5,000 liters have been sent to Birgunj today. Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh said that he was working to solve the drinking water problem. Stating that the fire extinguishers would be operated round the clock in the areas where there is a problem of drinking water, he said the Nepal Army would manage the fire extinguishers and supply water.
The Army is also preparing to supply water from seven tankers it has. Earlier, the Forest Department had been supplying drinking water to the drought-hit areas through three tankers.
