Palpa. Prem Bahadur Singh Thakuri of Bhambak of Rampur Municipality-5 has produced and sold 9,000 coffee saplings in a single season.

Last year, he had sold around Rs 6,000 worth of saplings. Coffee saplings are planted in this area from February to June. Thakuri has been producing Arabica varieties of saplings for the last three years. He said that the saplings are being sold at the rate of Rs 40 per plant from the farm. He informed that 2,500 saplings are yet to be sold in the nursery.

The plants grown here are consumed in Palpa, Syangja, Parbat and other districts. The plant is eligible to be planted within 14 months of planting. Thakuri also runs an organic tea and coffee industry at his home.
