Kailali. The number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Devharia Botanical Park under the Botanical Research Center, Kailali has been increasing lately. The park is considered to be very famous from the fascinating point of view, including natural green, lake bed, production of different species of herbs.
A large number of tourists come to the park every day for fun. It is often the choice of tourists to take pictures by wearing clothes reflecting different ethnic identities here. Ranjita Chaudhary, a local, has been earning from the fees charged from tourists who take photos wearing the same dress in the park.
Around 30 ethnic groups including Rana Tharu, Dagaura Tharu, Newar, Thakuri, Chhetri, Magar, Sherpa and Tamang are available at Chaudhary’s shop. He charges Rs 100 per hour for taking photographs in a botanical garden.
I have been charging Rs 100 for an hour and rs 30,000 by deducting all the expenses of the month,” he said. ’
He has invested rs 400,000 in stitching ethnic clothes. According to him, it costs around Rs 5,000 to stitch a pair of clothes. There are six members in the family including mother-in-law, father-in-law, husband, wife and son. He said that the same business has been taking care of the education of the children as well as all the expenses of the family.
Chaudhary, whose economic condition was very weak in the past, said that the standard of living has also improved with the establishment of this business. At present, domestic as well as foreign tourists are coming to the Botanical Garden at Deoria in Dhangadhi.
