Kathmandu. Kaski: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has urged people to remain alert as heavy rainfall has occurred in Lumle and surrounding areas of Kaski. Issuing a notice this morning, the Department has asked people to remain alert as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in Lumle and surrounding areas of Kaski.

The Department has urged the people to be extra vigilant as there is a possibility of more rain and the sudden flow of small rivulets flowing through the area may increase and there may be a risk of landslide in weak and hilly lands.

Earlier, the Department had issued a similar notice urging people to take precautions in the Bhujung Rain Measurement Centre and surrounding areas of Lamjung.

Issuing another notice at 5.30 am today, the Department said that the water level has crossed the alert level at Kankai, Mainachuli Water Measurement Center in Ilam. The Department has drawn the attention of the government to remain on high alert till this afternoon as the amount of rainfall is gradually increasing in the vicinity, so the riverbank areas and the low-lying areas are inundated.
