Kathmandu. The Department of National Identity Cards and Registration has informed that the service related to national identity cards has been partially disrupted.
Information Officer of the Department, Shivaraj Sedhai, said that the designated services related to the Department have been partially disrupted until the repair is completed as the national identity management information system is being regularly maintained and capacity expansion is going on.
According to him, the service of collecting details of national identity cards online and distributing cards, the service of correcting the details of the national identity card, the service of getting the national identity number at the time of birth registration, the verification service from the national identity number/ biological details during the registration and renewal of the names of the beneficiaries of social security allowance and other public services interlinked with the National Identity Management Information System have been disrupted.
The Department has said that the service delivery will be smooth as soon as the repair work is completed by publishing a public notice for the information of the stakeholders and service seekers. According to the Department, the service has been suspended since Sunday.
Informing all the National Identity Card Service Units that arrangements should be made to collect and distribute the details of national identity cards through offline, the Department has also requested the service seekers to cooperate in this work.
Information Officer Sedhai said that the customers who have registered the details of the national identity card through offline will get the national identity number through SMS after the online service is activated.
