Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has said that the government is going to fulfill the dream of a prosperous country envisioned by BP Koirala through energy.

Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of the 43rd memorial day of bp koirala at BP Museum, Sundarijal today, he said that bp koirala’s dream of building a prosperous country is being fulfilled through energy.

Minister Khadka remembered BP Koirala as a symbol of Nepali public awareness and rights. Minister Khadka said, “BP Koirala is not only a person of international repute, but his ideals, vision and lifestyle are more relevant and inspiring in today’s political context.”

He said BP has given importance to ideas and values over the comforts and safety of his personal life. Minister Khadka said that bp koirala’s long struggle has initiated the process of making Nepali people citizens from raiti. “BP endured imprisonment, torture and self-pity. But he did not lose faith in the people, even today the path shown by him is our guidance,” he said.

According to him, bp’s political philosophy clearly reflects the sense of responsibility of the state to meet the basic needs of the citizens. Minister Khadka recalled that BP’s entire life was dedicated to the interest of the Nepali people and the nation.

Minister Khadka said that the development of the energy sector has been linked with BP’s vision of building a self-reliant nation. “Today, we are moving towards self-reliance in energy generation, transmission and expansion,” he said, adding that joint efforts of all were needed to realize the dream of a prosperous Nepal as envisioned by BP.
