PM Oli announces 500 deep borewells to be installed in Madhes province

Jaleshwor. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced to install 500 deep borewells in Madhes province to meet the water requirement.

Inaugurating TAG_OPEN_div_20 a bridge over the Bighi river at Matihani municipality-8 in Mahottari district and a maternity home at ward no. 6, PM Oli said 500 deep borewells would be installed immediately in madhes province, which is facing shortage of irrigation and drinking water due to lack of rain.

Stating that most of TAG_OPEN_div_18 the land was found dry while coming here by air, he expressed commitment to resolve the problem as soon as possible by holding discussions and coordination with the stakeholders to provide drinking water along with irrigation arrangements in all the eight districts of Madhes province.

In his address TAG_OPEN_div_16, he said saptari district in the eastern part of Madhes province is connected with koshi river and there are fewer problems there and the government has already mobilized to solve the water problem in all the remaining seven districts.

Prime Minister Oli also pledged to bring special programmes in favour of the people directly affected by water scarcity, including the farmers of the region, in the context of declaring Madhes province as a crisis zone. TAG_OPEN_div_14

Similarly, pm Oli said, “Where there is education, there is development with awareness, where there is no education, there is poverty and scarcity. TAG_OPEN_div_12 Local residents are requested to send their children to school without discrimination. ’
