Kathmandu. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that the influence of monsoon winds is prevailing across the country at present. At the same time, the low pressure line of monsoon is also around the normal place.

According to the Division, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the hilly region and at a few places of the rest of the provinces as well as at a few places of the Tarai region.

Similarly, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly region and partly cloudy in the Tarai region tonight. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at a few places of the hilly region and at one or two places of the Tarai region. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places of the hilly region of Gandaki Province.

The Division has urged all concerned to remain alert as there is a risk of soil erosion, flooding and erosion due to possible rainfall, inundation in urban and Tarai areas and rising water level in large and small rivers and rivulets. It has also urged the general public and all concerned bodies to be cautious and prepared as excessive rainfall may affect daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, construction, road and air transport.
