Two arrested for forging government documents

Kavrepalanchowk. Kavrepalanchowk Police have arrested two persons for forging signatures and stamps of people’s representatives along with government documents.

The District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, today made public the seizure of equipment and cash along with signatures of various government offices, people’s representatives, political parties and individuals from a person and another person who was also operating ‘Cyber’ in Baneshwor of Kathmandu.

The arrestees have been identified as Jitendra Tamang, 38, of Dhulikhel Municipality-12 and Kiran Aryal, 41, of Shaheed Lakhan Rural Municipality-1 in Gorkha.

Spokesperson of the District Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale, informed that the remand of both of them has been extended by the District Court for five days.

According to Ghale, while investigating the case of making fake documents by forging letterpads, stamps of the ward office of Dhulikhel Municipality-12 on Tuesday, aryal’s cyber and Tamang along with the ‘ward chairperson’ stamp of the ward chair, 26 stamps of various organizations, Rs 68,700 cash, 14 notes of different countries, two citizenship, passports and documents of various organizations. Police have recovered 11 pen-drives, one computer CPU and two hard drives.

According to the preliminary investigation, cyber operator Aryal had prepared a letterpad of Dhulikhel Municipality-12, Shankhupatichaur and a signature with the seal of the ward chair, saying that tamang was preparing to go to the ward office to prove his relationship.
