Tanahun. The Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Office has provided subsidy on electricity tariff to 129 drinking water consumers’ committees of Tanahun and Nawalpur.

Office chief Shambhu Raj Khanal informed that rs 12.96 million has been distributed to the Drinking Water Users’ Committee from June 2080/2081 to April 2081/2082. He said that the payment for May and June last year will be made in the current fiscal year.

Khanal said that the subsidy has been arranged to provide drinking water to the consumers at a subsidized rate since last year. According to him, electricity bills up to Rs 25,000 are paid on the basis of full and above percentage.

Here, 75 percent of the fees from Rs 25,000 to Rs 40,000, 50 percent from Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000, 25 percent from Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000 and 10 percent from Rs 80,000 to Rs 100,000 are paid.

“Consumers should have not paid the original bill and penalty of electricity bill for payment,” he said, adding, “A decision has been taken by the consumer committee within six months and a recommendation for the grant has to be submitted from the ward office.” ’
