Addressing TAG_OPEN_div_30 a programme organised by the Independent Students Union of Maharajgunj Nursing Campus here today, she said nurses are the main pillar of civic health in a country like Nepal where doctors are not easily available.
Minister Dr. Rana said, “From rural settlements to urban hospitals, nurses’ service, dedication and treatment towards patients have become the main basis of the health system. TAG_OPEN_div_28 The role of nurses is becoming more important for the availability of public health and basic health services. ’
She said that due to the treatment TAG_OPEN_div_26 of patients, increased morale, services in emergencies and nursing services such as counseling to patients, access to health among Nepali citizens, improvement in maternal and child health and awareness of health education in rural areas have increased.
Minister Rana stressed TAG_OPEN_div_24 the need for providing incentives, service security, timely training and technical resources to nurses dedicated to such sensitive services to improve the existing healthcare system.
Minister Dr Rana said, “TAG_OPEN_div_22 The role of nurses should not be limited to health workers but should be developed as a trained health worker. This role of nurses is essential for an inclusive, accessible and quality healthcare system in Nepal. ’
Recalling his past campaign in the field of maternal and child health through the ‘Safe Motherhood Network’ in Nepal, he stressed the need for developing the nursing profession with timely facilities for further progress. TAG_OPEN_div_20
Minister TAG_OPEN_div_18 Dr. Rana also advised the graduates of important and sensitive subjects like nursing to make their studies more efficient and practical and work at the center of hope and trust of the patients through soft behavior and service.
Regarding TAG_OPEN_div_16 the current situation of Nepali nurses going abroad, he said, “I will not say anything about the fact that nepali nurses are going abroad with good opportunities. However, while living abroad, you will return home after collecting knowledge and skills there. There is a dire need for them in this country. ’
