Four-wheelers banned from plying on Banavasa bridge

Kanchanpur. Kanchanpur: The ban imposed on the operation of four-wheelers on the Banvasa bridge over the Mahakali river connecting Nepal and India has been kept in place due to the rise in water level in the Mahakali River in Kanchanpur.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, Sagar Bohara, said that vehicles have been banned from plying on the bridge to minimize the possible risk after the water level in the river crossed 100,000 cusecs on Monday morning.

According to him, the water level in the river increased to 168,344 cusecs as measured at 10 am on Monday. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara, the water level in the river is 109,980 cusecs. According to him, vehicles have been banned from plying on the bridge after the water level in the river crossed 100,000 cusecs.
