Myagdi. Myagdi: Confusion has been created after the office of implementing the Greater Ghoptekhola and Piple-Bhagwati Drinking Water Project in Myagdi, which started a decade after it was included in the annual budget and program of the federal government, was removed.
The Federal Drinking Water and Sewerage Management Project Office, established in Beni in 2077 BS for the implementation of the federal government’s programmes in Myagdi, Baglung and Mustang districts, has been merged with Pokhara from July 1, 2019 as per the ministerial decision of the Ministry of Drinking Water.
Dil Kumari Khatri, acting chief of the District Coordination Committee, said that after the cancellation of beni’s office, there has been confusion in the implementation of the project, which was started at a cost of about Rs 1 billion to provide clean and systematic drinking water facilities to about 5,000 households.
“Due to lack of planning and budget till the office was in place, only the work of awarding contracts for the pride drinking water projects of Myagdi was done,” he said. According to him, many drinking water projects in Myagdi were stuck after the then Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Office was abolished in 2074÷75 BS.
Problems in plan implementation

A total of 2,369 households in six wards of Raghuganga Rural Municipality and Beni Municipality will be benefited from the scheme. The contract agreement with the construction company was signed on July 28, 2081 BS at a cost of Rs 285 million 12 thousand 755 BS.
The contractor company has started the construction of the source, main pipeline and water processing center structure at Currentkhola of Raghuganga Rural Municipality-6. The project, which was signed on July 1, 2081 BS, is scheduled to be completed by July 15, 2018.
A decade after the proposed Mega Piple-Bhagwati Drinking Water Project was included in the annual programme to expand drinking water facilities to 2,416 households of Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2 and 3, the contract agreement was signed in June last year.
Last year, a source of Rs 100 million was ensured for the construction of the first pyokage of piple-Bhagwati Drinking Water Project estimated to cost Rs 373.7 million and a contract agreement was signed with the construction company for Rs 85 million.
