Police constable Khatri arrested with bribe

Kathmandu. Rupandehi: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Armed Police Force (APF) jawan Yam Bahadur Khatri with a bribe at Nepal Border Outpost Majhgawa in Kothimai rural municipality-5, Rupandehi.

The Commission has arrested him while he was taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a service seeker to facilitate the illegal import of clothes and groceries from India by evading customs duty across the border.

A team from the Commission’s Butwal office arrested Khatri from Khotahimai rural municipality-5. Commission spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel said that further investigation was underway after arresting the accused Armed Police Force (APF) jawan Khatri.

Similarly, the Commission has arrested Ekendra Kunwar, an office assistant at the Survey Office, Kalanki, with a bribe of Rs 13,000 on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Commission’s central office, Tangal, arrested Kunwar on the basis of information that he had demanded bribe from the service seekers for the purpose of making the land located in Chandragiri Municipality-13.

The Commission has arrested two mobile devices of the head of the Survey Office, Kalanki, one mobile phone of the surveyor and one mobile phone of office assistant Kunwar. Further investigation of the accused Kunwar is underway.
