Myagdi. Myagdi: The local administration has decided to ban the operation of vehicles at night on the Myagdi section of the Beni-Jomsom road, which is prone to landslides.
As per the decision of the District Security Committee, Myagdi and Mustang, vehicular movement on the road from Beni to Ghasa will be closed from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am on Tuesday evening.
Mustang Chief District Officer Bishnu Prasad Bhusal said the decision has been taken to completely stop vehicular movement on the road during the night until further notice.
Myagdi’s Chief District Officer Gurudatta Dhakal said they have been requested not to travel during the night as there is a risk of landslide during the rainy season and the decision will be implemented by coordinating with the two districts through the local police post.
Landslides are likely to occur at Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2, Baisari, Majkharka, Annapurna Rural Municipality-2, Bhurungbhir, Guithebhir, Sukebagar and Kavrebhir. The beni-Jomsom road is in the final stages of upgradation. The Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Planning Office has been removing landslides and operating transportation.
