Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has issued a three-point directive to carry out the issues related to smooth supply of chemical fertilizers and the status of agriculture within three days.
A three-point directive has been issued after extensive discussions with the concerned officials, including the Minister for Agriculture and Industry, on the management of agricultural fertilizers and increasing production.
Pm Oli has directed to come up with a concrete plan with a new framework to streamline the supply system of chemical fertilizers.
He has directed to conduct a national campaign for the production and use of compost and organic fertilizers and bring a proposal for subsidy policy in it. He has also directed to come up with a study plan to open a chemical fertilizer factory in Nepal to save soil fertility.
The Prime Minister discussed the problem of shortage of chemical fertilizers. Prime Minister Oli has been giving high priority to resolving the problem after receiving complaints that the farmers did not get fertilizers on time even when there was a stock of fertilizers required by them and more fertilizers continued to arrive.
In a discussion with the Agriculture Minister and the concerned officials before the start of the farming season, PM Oli directed them to work in such a way that there is no shortage of fertilizers and to open a production factory of chemical fertilizers in Nepal and bring a plan to increase the production and use of organic fertilizers.
