Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said polygamy would not be legalised in the House of Representatives under any circumstances. In today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, he said rumours were being spread that a law was being brought to recognize polygamy.

He questioned who was spreading rumours that the party government, which had been fighting for social awareness, social justice and women’s rights, would legalize polygamy.

“Who made the noise? The government doesn’t know. I don’t know. Where does it come from?,” he said, adding, “We are not going to bring a law to recognize polygamy.” Polygamy will not be recognised under any circumstances. ’
