“Preparations are underway to bring 55 basic hospitals into operation.

Kathmandu. Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has said that all the three levels of government are moving ahead with mutual understanding to bring into operation 55 basic hospitals that have been completed and handed over.

Responding to the queries of lawmakers in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives( TAG_OPEN_div_14 HoR), Minister Poudel said that the programme has been forwarded to bring into operation other hospitals that have been completed across the country and handed over to the local levels. Preparations are underway to provide doctors and equipment to these basic hospitals, he said.

Speaking at TAG_OPEN_div_12 the question and answer session of the meeting , he claimed that the obligations committed by the Ministry have been completed on time in a procedural manner. He said that some hospitals could not be brought into operation as the procedural issues were yet to be finalized.

‘ We see the building standing from the outside. However, there are many problems including non-handing over of such buildings, non-completion of construction and litigation,” said Minister Poudel. ’

Stating TAG_OPEN_div_8 that the physical progress of the hospital at Sonari Narainapur-4 of Rapti in Banke district is yet to be handed over 100 per cent, he said it would come into operation immediately after the transfer. According to him, the procedure related to the operation of the hospital has been approved.
