Kathmandu. Stating that the low pressure line of monsoon is around the Tarai and slightly south of the Tarai in the east, the Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that the monsoon will be more active in the west than the eastern part of the country today.

The weather will be generally cloudy in lumbini, Karnali and SudurPaschim provinces and partly cloudy in the rest of the country. According to the Division, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places of Lumbini, Karnali and SudurPaschim provinces and at a few places of Madhes province.

Similarly, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of gandaki, Lumbini, Sudur Paschim and Karnali provinces. The weather will be generally cloudy in the hilly region and partly cloudy in the rest of the country tonight. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places of Gandaki Province, Bagmati Province, Lumbini Province and Karnali Province and at a few places of Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province.

The Division has also urged all to remain alert and make preparations, predicting that there is a risk of landslide and debris flow in the hilly areas of the country due to rain, the water level in big and small rivers and rivulets may rise and the transport sector may be affected.
