Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the construction of Naubise-Nagdhunga tunnel has reached the final stage. He gave this information through social media today.
“The construction of the Naubise-Nagdhunga tunnel has reached the final stage and once it is brought into operation soon, the troubles of commuting through Nagdhunga will end,” pm Oli said. According to him, the physical progress of the tunnel has reached 93 percent so far.
A few days ago, the government had fixed the fees for vehicles passing through the tunnel as the construction of the tunnel was in the final stage. According to this, cars and vans entering the federal capital will have to pay Rs 65 and Rs 60 when they leave.
Also, minibuses and minitrucks will have to pay Rs 115 when they come to the capital and Rs 80 when they leave, Rs 260 for buses and trucks and Rs 200 when they return. Similarly, in the case of heavy equipment vehicles, the fee has been fixed at Rs 600 on arrival in Kathmandu and Rs 200 on return.
With the operation of the tunnel way, it is expected to save time in travel and reduce the transportation price. The 2.688-km-long tunnel has two lanes of 3.5 metres width. Drains have also been constructed on both sides of the tunnel.
